OMAHA COMMUNITY BROADCASTING
Make a Difference Today
Omaha Community Broadcasting wants to spread our message of hope and compassion. We believe that a single action can make a difference in the community, and that collective action can greatly impact the world. Through advocacy and outreach activities, our team works tirelessly each day to contribute their part to the greater good.
WHO WE ARE
Here at Omaha Community Broadcasting, we know that sometimes all it takes to change the world is a little support. Since our founding in 2000, we have been determined to make an impact. The core of our efforts is to bring our team’s fresh ideas and passion to the range of activities we’re involved in. Through all of our endeavors we hope to display the conviction behind our beliefs.
WHAT WE DO
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to serve as a management platform for nonprofit organizations and researchers desiring to fill their overall need for management and advisory services. DAERC supports its clients' multi-faceted contributions to communities, advances community and economic development goals, and works to fill the overall need for administrative and management services.
UNDERSERVED WIFI COMMUNITIES
Reinforcing our Commitment
With our organization’s mission always in mind, we partnered with the State of Nebraska to bring Community Owned WiFi to Macy, Nebraska. WE ARE READY TO BEGIN OUR NORTH OMAHA PROJECT - and we need your help.
HEALTH AND ENERGY
One Step at a Time
At Omaha Community Broadcasting, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing this issue. The priority for our COVID-19 projects and the need for upgrading substandard housing have crossed into our demonstration project. The videos of previous work in the area continue to address homelessness caused by housing conditions, health problems, and now the pandemic.
Our dedicated affiliates have a substantial background in science, research, and education.
The volunteer staff of OCB and our partnered entities have provided management expertise to fill in the gaps that many research projects lack.
PROPOSALS
UNMC - Buffett Cancer Center
•Much of the initial contact with the center has been based on assisting with fundraising.
•That has expanded to discussions with Dr. Lunning, Dr. Bergan, and Dr. Von Essen.
•The partnering with the Center and other affiliates allows us to make immediate impacts in multiple areas.
•The funding project for Dr. Lunning can begin immediately. Discussions with Brittany started months ago. The presentation to Ashley Christensen was prepared pre-Covid.
•Jon Traudt will be able to provide equipment that may be needed immediately in the UNMC research laboratories.
•A proposal was made to a top 5 Tech company late last year. A demonstration project at UNMC will be made regarding employee and patient programs that may be funded nationwide when successful.
Proposals for the use of the WiFi systems being completed by Media King are being prepared for education and tele-health
TIMING
We have been involved with community advancement for over 20 years. Lately, we have received numerous awards and recognition.
We have encountered numerous delays based on regulatory requirements and the need to demonstrate, on a workable scale, that we can and do achieve our goals.
Opportunity can now be undertaken immediately as we have created an association with several recognized entities that will provide complete transparency to our donors and clients.
Our system has been voluntary and completely funded internally. We are beginning to seek seed money, and in our newly awarded program, we have established funds in the proposed budget to hire the work completed. This allows an immediate initiation of the three-year grant package.
